Military and Veteran Health

The Iraq War began in March 2003; since then over 3 million American men and women have deployed in support of U.S. military operations. Early in my time at RAND, I was fortunate to be part of the study team that wrote Invisible Wounds of War, the first independent assessment of the the psychological and cognitive injuries experienced by the men and women who deployed in support of military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. I served as Associate Director of RAND’s Center for Military Health Policy Research from 2011 to 2012 and have continued to conduct research on PTSD prevalence and treatment among U.S. service members and veterans and suicide risk and prevention among these groups.
